Successful funding round for defense-technology company Helsing
The Munich-based startup raised €600 million in its Series D round at a €12 billion valuation, with participation from top VC funds including Accel and General Catalyst. Marktlink Capital VC II portfolio fund Plural II invested a year ago in the Series C round at a €4.5 billion valuation and also took part again in the most recent round. Helsing develops AI software and autonomous systems for European defense and security organizations, and has secured contracts with Germany, Estonia, the UK, and Ukraine. The company plans to use the new capital to further develop unmanned submarines and drones, with the aim of safeguarding Europe’s security.
